Praised on numerous occasions by the critics, Spanish pianist Laura Sánchez has won 2nd Place in the Nueva Acrópolis Competition (Spain, 1992), the King House Piano Awards (Ireland, 1998), and Young Artists from Castilla-La Mancha Competition (Spain, 1999), she was awarded the "Virgen de los Llanos" prize in the XIX National Young Pianists Competition of Albacete, she received an Honorable Mention in the XIV International Piano Competition of Ibiza (Spain,2000) and 2nd Place in the XX National Young Pianists Competition of Albacete (Spain, 2000). She has also been recorded by entities such as National Clasical Radio and Televisión Educativa Iberoamericana both in Spain, and has performed in numerous venues in Spain, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Austria, the United States and Puerto Rico.
Laura obtained the titles of Superior (ie. university level) Piano and Chamber Music Professor from the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, where she studied with Rafael Solís and Almudena Cano. In 1997 she enrolled in the Royal Irish Academy of Music (Dublin, Ireland), where she completed a Master in Piano Performance. She has received lessons from Luiz de Moura Castro, Aquilles Delle Vigne, Jan Wijn, Anatol Ugorski, Thérèse Fahy, Joaquín Achúcarro, Josep Mª Colom and Ferenc Rados, among other pianists.
Along with her continuing work as soloist she is also forms part of the piano faculty at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música "Isaac Albéniz" in Madrid.
